This is straight off Picasa’s new features page. It had me stumped. I even checked and double checked if I had been bumped to 11 GB as well. (Picasa web albums normally allows you to have up to 1gb of space for photos free of charge).

A redesigned Settings page

picasa giving 11GBs of space?

Picasa giving away 11 GBs of space?

We cleaned up the Picasa Web Albums Settings page, offering you an easier-to-navigate version of the original. Want to know how much storage you’re using? Click the Storage tab to see.

I even PMed (private messaged) friends abroad to check if it was a location based feature enabled for users in America.

And the verdict?
Its probably a design error(read typo) as a paid option for 20 GBs of space still exists and will put you down a measly $5/year.

For those who are still stumped on what Picasa is and what it does, go here. It is a Google product (free of course) that allows you to manage your photos offline as well as online. It also gives you a fair bit of touching up options for your photos;  sharing them on the web via Picasa web albums is real easy too.

What’s even sweeter is that the web albums allow users three different levels of controls and a load of other features.
